'In the Penal Colony' is programmed at Teatro Municipal da Guarda, Portugal on March 20, 2007
along with a theater production and Philip Glass's opera based on the same short story by Franz Kafka.

director/writer/producer of 'In the Penal Colony'. Sibel was interviewed on November 16 and 17, 2006.

'In the Penal Colony' received Bronze Award in Film and Video Art at 39th Annual Worldfest 
Houston International Film Festival, April 21-30, 2006.

'In the Penal Colony' had its Canadian premier at Canadian Filmmakers Festival, Toronto, 
March 23-26, 2006 with a screening at Cineplex Odeon Carlton Cinemas, March 26, 2006, 2:30pm.
The  after screening interview with Sibel Guvenc was broadcasted on April 1st, 2006 at OMNI-TV. 

'In the Penal Colony' participated in Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market 2006.
